Residents preparing to burn brush as part of Clean-Up activities around their properties should note that the 2018 forest fire season started 1 May and will end 30 September, 2018.
A permit to burn is required under the Forestry Act and can be obtained at no cost at Paddy’s Pond office, phone
Materials prohibited include: tires, plastic, treated lumber, asphalt, drywall, demolition, hazard, domestic and biomedical waste, manure, rubber, tar paper, railway ties, paint and paint products, fuel, lubricant containers, used oil, Styrofoam,
animal cadavers etc.
